Richards Bay Christian School offers the following academic learning programs:
Preschool
Our preschool caters for children aged 3 to Grade R. We offer Kidigym, Playball, and Kindermusik. In addition we offer computer classes for the Grade R class.
Foundation phase
The foundation phase caters for Grade 1 to Grade 3. We encourage our students to give the best in all they undertake.
During this phase an emphasis is placed on the attainment of skills, and that students become concious of the role which attitudes and values play in life. Our learning program in this phase promotes the development of inter-personal skills.
Intermediate phase
In the intermediate phase, it is our desire to train students through the obedient submission of their will to Christ and to authority; to be passionate, confident leaders, thoroughly equipped physically, academically and socially, with a desire to influence family and community into the Kingdom of God.
In this phase, the contents of the National Curriculum are the principle parameter in which our program is conducted. We follow the guidelines laid down for each of the learning areas namely: Languages (English and Afrikaans), Mathematics, Social Sciences (History and Geography), Natural Sciences, Technology, Arts and Culture (Music and Art) Economic Management Sciences and Life Orientation. We also offer computer lessons to each of our students in our well-equipped computer centre.
GET phase
We know that this is the phase where we can have maximum impact on young lives. The young people in this phase are energetic, engaging and vital. We aim to develop our young people in these areas:

Our matriculants are equipped for the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) senior certificate examination. Our students from Grade 3 to Grade 10 also take part in the IEB International Benchmarking Tests in Maths, Science and English. The IEB is an assessment body that is accredited by UMLALUSI, the statutory body responsible for quality assurance of school and adult assessments.
